Renee Powell » Artist Statement

Animated by the forms sculpted by nature, I imagine and seize a moment by combining bronze to those rough shapes.

My statement to the possibility that with my eyes and hands ,what appears to be a lifeless piece, becomes a symbol of liberty and movement, a bird.

My sculptures inspire a moment of calm and contemplation by transposing in the living environment a fragment offered simply by nature.

Each sculpture is an unique piece.

Weathered by water, wind or sand , modeled by time, whether they come from the sea, the mountains or the forests, rocks intrigue us with their form, color and originality. Inspired by those pure sculptures of nature, under the lost wax technique, the original shape guides the creation.
